It seems as if the sleek and sexy HP convertible sold its soul for beauty and attractiveness, but strangely, I can’t help but think, “Perhaps it was worth it?” The Spectre x360 15 has a luxurious aesthetic with its black-and-gold motif. It’s the type of laptop you’d expect to be in the hands of a wealthy Millennial who owns a private jet....

Design You either love or hate the toy-like look of the updated HP Stream 11; there is no middle ground here. It comes in a vibrant aqua blue or purple, where the shade infuses everything from its horizontally grained cover to its touchpad, but not the white keyboard. This laptop could be a great choice for students who just want something fun and small to bring to school.. However, the Stream doesn’t look professional enough to bring to a meeting with corporate investors....

But make no mistake, the show will go on starting on September 3 and, despite the limited on-ground attendance, the announcements coming over the three days of this year’s conference are going to be no less massive with laptops, tablets, smartphones, and more coming from hundreds of exhibitors. Intel is discussing only its U-series Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs for consumer laptops, so we’re still waiting on news for the 8th-Gen Core i3, Y-series, and processors for gaming and business notebooks. The 8th-gen processors launch today (Aug. 21) and will begin shipping in laptops in September. Both the i5 and i7 CPUs are now quad-core chips even in the U-series, and Intel claims that this generation of chips will span three architectures: a refresh of the currently existing Kaby Lake, as well as Coffee Lake and Cannon Lake....

The iPhone 12 Pro is outfitted with a wealth of avante-garde features, including a depth-perceiving LiDAR scanner, Dolby Vision HDR for more colorful videos and 5G for high-speed downloads, but there are a few caveats. The scope of fun you can have with LiDAR is limited, most phones can’t “recognize” your Dolby Vision HDR content, and 5G still isn’t available in many regions.
