But it quickly became clear that the company had made long-term hardware bets that didn’t pay off in time and its 2020 lineup was essentially a bridge to get into 2021....

Design Razer has completely retooled the look of the Blade, and it really is drop-dead gorgeous. The corners are slightly more squared off, giving it an edgier look (no pun intended) that’s still classy. The chassis is still black aluminum, but Razer’s green, tri-headed-snake icon is still the lower-back tattoo of laptop logos, and its presence here does kill some of the elegance. Lifting the lid reveals a 15.6-inch display with minimal bezel (though there’s still enough up top to keep the webcam there), a Chroma-enabled keyboard with RGB lighting flanked by speakers, and a large trackpad on the black aluminum deck....

The lineup has several features that will make them appealing to healthcare applications with available antimicrobial surface treatment, a fingerprint and RFID reader as well as Lenovo’s Privacy Guard display to prevent snooping. Of course, any high-security profession will value many of these as well and support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and other new features making them a solid future-proofed option for many. To see which processors reign supreme, we got ahold of two nearly identical HP Envy x360 2-in-1s — one with Ryzen 5 and one with Intel Core i5 — and put them through our own set of tests. Overall, the Ryzen Mobile-powered laptop impressed us by getting much-higher graphics scores than its competitor. We’re talking about three to four times faster. Intel’s chip scored a little higher on a couple of tests that didn’t require much graphics might, but the overall takeaway is that AMD’s mobile processors are now as good if not better than Intel’s....
