Those additions, especially the new live chat feature, give MSI’s historically low tech support grade a lift. Sadly, whatever ground MSI gained was undone by non-existent social media channels and a phone line that only occasionally answers (and never calls back). Design Lenovo managed to hide a gaming laptop in plain sight. The Y730 looks elegant enough to crash a work meeting with its majority dark-gray aluminum chassis. In fact, the only plastics you’ll find are found in the rear and side vents, hinges and bottom-mounted speaker grille. The notebook’s lid is simultaneously edgy and spartan, with a large Legion logo engraved along the lower left side of the lid. Look closer, and you’ll notice a small, backlit version of the company’s three-pronged Legion symbol hiding out in the O....
Design The ThinkPad E580 is available in both standard Lenovo black and a stunning dark-silver color. I really liked how the silver on our review unit carried over to not only the lid and deck, but also the touchpad, power button and fingerprint reader. The aluminum lid is a slightly darker and more attractive shade than the plastic body. At 4.7 pounds and 14.5 x 9.9 x 0.8 inches, the ThinkPad E580 isn’t particularly thin and light, but I was able to carry it in my backpack without getting sore muscles....
Design The X380 retains the timeless ThinkPad design, sporting a black carbon-fiber lid with a ThinkPad logo in the top left-hand corner and silver hinges on the back. The 13.3-inch display is surrounded by a moderate bezel, and there’s yet another ThinkPad logo on the deck beneath the fingerprint reader. There are a few pops of color, thanks to the red accents of the mouse buttons and the red TrackPoint nub in the middle of the keyboard....
